ANNA NAHAPETOVA, the daughter of Rodion Nahapetov and Vera Glagoleva, was born October 14th, 1978 in Moscow, Russia. From an early age, Anna displayed a special affinity towards dance and music. Her parents having noticed this special talent, enrolled her into a ballet studio in Moscow. At the age of nine, after showing incredible progress, Anna was accepted to the prestigious Vaganovskoe School of Ballet in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Anna moved to St. Petersburg with her grandmother, Galina Naumovna, (Vera Glagoleva’s mother). Two years later, Anna was accepted to the world-renowned Moscow Choreographic Academy at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Anna received her training from the most well-known ballet master – Sofia Golovkina.
At the age of eighteen, Anna began to perform around the world with the Bolshoi Theatre ballet. Her most colorful solo performances include various animated character dances in “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, “Don Quixote” and “Spartacus”. Her special talent is displayed in her very lively and temperamental portrayals. Recently, she performed the lead role of “Romola” in “Nijhinsky” at the famed Pierre Cardin Theatre in Paris.
Throughout her young life, Anna has already toured the world, several times with the Bolshoi, and her talent has been recognized by audiences worldwide.
In addition to her work at the Bolshoi Theatre, Anna is actively acting in both film television and the theatre. She has already acted in over fifteen productions, and is presently performing in a popular play “Lupov”, at the Satyr Theatre in Moscow.
On November 24, 2006, Anna and Egor Simachev, (also a dancer with the Bolshoi) became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl – Polina, who is already exhibiting interest and talent in ballet and starting her studies at an early age.
