Rodion Nahapetov

KATIA MERRILL – NAHAPETOV, the daughter of Natasha Shliapnikoff and Rodion Nahapetov, was born May 26, 1983 in San Francisco, California.

From an early age, Katia was drawn to music. She joined the school band, sang in her church choir, studied piano, clarinet and took vocal lessons. While attending elementary school, Katia began to display a talent for writing. She received an International Poetry Award, and her poems were published in a special edition of outstanding poems.

Katia, equally gifted in musical composition and singing, began to perform and compose for a local band. She was noticed by “City Sessions” and selected to be in their television series of “Local Outstanding Bands”. She performed in many well-known clubs throughout Los Angeles, such as “The Viper Room”, “ The Roxy.” and others. Katia has recently recorded her first album entitled “Kill Your Darlings.” She is presently seeking representation and would like to see her album be turned into a Broadway musical.

In addition to her musical career, Katia is continuing to further her education at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, where she is majoring in photography and advertising.
